The laboratory of metal hydride technologies under the leadership of the leading scientist, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Mikhail Vladimirovich Lototsky was established at IPCP RAS in 2022 (Order No. "Energy conversion"; priority direction of scientific and technical development of the Russian Federation: 20b). "Transition to environmentally friendly and resource-saving energy, increasing the efficiency of production and deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, the formation of new sources, methods of transportation and storage of energy"; Grant of the Government of the Russian Federation for state support of scientific research. research, No. 075-15-2022-1126.
The laboratory is part of the Complex of Laboratories for Hydrogen Materials Science of the Department of Functional Materials for Chemical Energy Sources; PhD. Boris P. Tarasov (Order No. 11s of 06/22/2022).
The laboratory conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of new materials and develops technological solutions for environmentally friendly resource-saving hydrogen energy. Scientific directions and main tasks of the laboratory are:
development of new scientific approaches to the creation of new metal hydride and composite materials for compact and safe storage and transportation of hydrogen,
development of technology for producing alloys and composites that store hydrogen,
modeling of processes in metal-hydrogen systems to determine the optimal compositions and designs of metal hydride batteries and hydrogen compressors,
development of scientific and technological solutions for the use of metal hydride materials and products in hydrogen energy,
development of scientific and technological solutions for the production of high-pressure hydrogen by the method of hydrolysis of metal hydride materials.
On the basis of the laboratory, an International Educational Center for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of hydrogen energy technologies is being created.
To conduct scientific research on the Megagrant, a working group of 20 employees has been formed at the IPCP RAS (Order No. 611l dated 06/22/2022).
