HIGHLY EFFICIENT ANTISEPTIC COMPOSITIONS BASED ON PYRIDINE DERIVATIVES
♦ The process for preparation of a disinfectant based on l,10-di(4-octylaminopyridinium-l)decane dichloride (DOPD) has been developed for production of antiseptic materials.
♦ Disinfectant «Aquanidine» comprising 0.1% of DOPD has been tested to show high bactericidal, fungicidal and viricidal activity, particularly, towards viruses of poliomyelitis, herpes simplex, HIV, hepatitis Сand bird flu virus A.
♦ The developed compositions can be used for quick hands disinfection for medical, school and kindergarten personnel as well as for disinfection of medical instruments and equipment, and for residential use. The compositions show durable (up to 6 hours) antiviral effect.
The developed technology can be used for production of disinfectants in Russia, which would meet world standards. The process for production of disinfectant «Aquanidine» has been worked through on the pilot plant at IPCP RAS. The development has been patented in Russia.

In 2007, commercial production of liquid disinfecting soap «Doctor Grams» with «Aquanidine» as a disinfecting component, started at plant «Aqualon» (Podolsk).
