GEL-BASED COMPOSITES AS PROPHYLAXIS OF SECONDARY NECROSIS IN THE TREATMENT OF GUNSHOT WOUNDS
♦ Based on the up-to-date concept of free-radical nature of secondary traumatic phenomena at wound damages of various genesis (mainly, shotgun), the treatment at early stages has been suggested, which combines the effect of radical reactions inhibitors preventing the necrosis development and of substances accelerating the regeneration of damaged tissues.
♦ The composite medical gel has been developed, which involves bioantioxidants binding free radicals, immunomodulators and bactericidal components.
♦ The gel-composite has been tested for the treatment of gunshot wounds on laboratory animals. Application of the preparation within the first hours after injury has been shown to prevent essentially the development of secondary necrosis around the wound, to accelerate biosynthesis of protein and to decrease considerably the period of rehabilitation of casualties.
♦ A wide range of therapeutic effects, i.e., high wound healing activity for wounds of various origins (shotgun and cut wounds, burns, frostbites, trophic ulcers, etc.) provides application of the developed composites not only for military and traumatic surgery but in other fields of medicine, as well as in private life
♦ Based on public corporation «Biomed», experimental-industrial plant has been put in operation to produce the cream-gel for pre-clinic and clinic tests.
The developed composites have been protected by three patents of the Russian Federation. |
