The Most Important Finished R&D Ready for Practical Application

The plant for wood waste gasification.
Start-up of the gasification plant manufactured using IPCP RAS technology and with the Institute's participation has been performed at "Salyut".
The plant has been designed for burning industrial and domestic waste, as well as for using high-ash local and alternative fuels instead of natural gas and black oil. The plant capacity is 15 thousand tons per year. The process is characterized by high environmental friendliness, energetic and economic efficiency.

Basic trends in the technology of trotyl utilization and approaches to modifying the catalysts for partial hydrogenation of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) (together with IOC RAS)
The catalysts for TNT hydrogenation have been synthesized, the reaction direction has been determined, and conditions of hydrogenation have been found, which provide either the formation of triaminotoluene (TAT) or termination of the reaction at the intermediate stage of isomeric diaminonitrotoluenes (94% yield) or monoaminodinitrotoluenes formation. The basic trends in the technology of trotyl utilization have been determined, which involve the further processing of TAT (which forms upon hydrogenation of 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene), without its isolation from the reaction mixture, to yield valuable products for civilian life, namely, 2,4,6-trihydroxytoluene, triaminotoluene formaldehyde resins, hexa(2-hydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triaminotoluene, acidic and dispersed azo-dyes.

The program complex for studying regularities of styrene non-isothermal polymerization
The program complex for studying regularities of styrene non-isothermal polymerization has been developed. The complex provides determination of time dependencies of temperature, heat release rate, concentration of a monomer, an initiator, "sleeping" inhibitors, radicals and other intermediate products of the reaction in a numerical experiment, as well as rates of their change and, hence, the complete information on the process dynamics. It also allows thermal regimes and their dependence on geometrical parameters of the reactor, kinetic (pre-exponential multipliers and activation energies of separate stages of the reaction) and thermal properties of the reacting system to be studied, critical conditions of the process failure to be determined. The complex allows the quality of the final product to be analyzed basing on the function of molecular-weight distribution and its parameters.

New powders for 45-mm automatic artillery complex being developed
The powder charge of a telescopic type with a high ballistic efficiency for a new 45-mm automatic multi-purpose artillery system has been developed. Thermodynamic and ballistic calculations have been performed, and necessary parameters of new powders for such charges have been obtained. Pilot samples of new powders have been produced and given to the developer of the complex and ammunition for comprehensive trials. The technology for industrial production at "Kotovskii plastic factory" has been finished.

New polymeric gel-electrolytes for Li-polymeric batteries
New polymeric gel-electrolytes based on polyesterdiacrylates have been developed for lithium-polymeric batteries. They provide a high reversibility of electrode reactions. Ionic conductivity of new electrolytes (up to 4•10-3 ohm-1cm-1) corresponds to the best state of the art liquid organic electrolytes and allows operations at low temperatures (to -250°C).

Metal hydride multiple hydrogen sources
Basing on the alloys of rare-earth and 3d-transition metals synthesized at the Institute, the multiple sources of high-purity hydrogen (99.999%) of a wide range of application have been developed. Various types of sources were created, which operate in the temperature range 20-100°C, have capacity over hydrogen 10 - 2500 l and a controlled rate of hydrogen delivery 1 - 36 l/min. Their parameters are consistent with those of the best foreign analogs.
Variation of the mass of injured tissues while treating with LERAN
Pre-clinical investigation of a new medicine composition LERAN in treatment of serious bone-muscular gun wounds has been completed. Application of LERAN at an early stage of treatment prevents the development of secondary necrosis and accelerates essentially periosteum reparation and osteo-synthesis of bony tissue. Medical commission of the Ministry of Defense recommended that pilot work on clinical application of LERAN as multi-purpose local dressing for treatment of gun wounds be performed.

GRID sector in the local network of IPCP RAS
In 2004, in the frame of a complex program of the Presidium of RAS "Development of fundamental bases for the formation of scientific distributed information-computational environment basing on GRID technologies", a heterogeneous computational polygon has been created, which includes the cluster, SMP-servers and personal computers with total maximum capacity above 100 GFLOPS. The created computational environment provides the solution of a wide range of problems of chemical physics, quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics. Due to the new GRID computational technology, a new result in the field of tunnel dynamics in periodical potentials has been obtained. In future, when gateway is created, the capacity of such system may become unlimited.
